TRUMAN will not be and is not responsible for the areas as listed below. It is up to the homeowner(s) to maintain these items on a regular basis. The homeowner is responsible for reading manuals and maintaining products they purchase according to the manual’s recommendations. Continue the monthly checks as well as the seasonal list to ensure a long and happy Truman Home.
Monthly Checklist
- Clean electronic air cleaner or replace regular furnace filter if necessary.
- Clean humidifier.
- Check for water leaks – dishwasher – hot water tank – all taps and drains – exterior taps
- Monitor humidity levels. (Daily)
- Tighten teleposts (if necessary).
- Check range hood fan, clean grease filter as necessary to avoid grease build-up.
(Potential fire hazards are created by grease accumulation on filters). - Drain sediment from hot water heater. (Yearly)
- Check water level in floor drain trap and add water if necessary. (Yearly)
- Steam units require the system to periodically blown out the water from the unit.

Spring Maintenance Checklist
- Check the drainage of your lot; proper drainage is away from the foundation. To ensure this, all down spouts should be in a lowered position.
- Remove ice damming from your roof.
- Check and clean eavestroughs and downspouts.
- Check roof for damaged or missing shingles.
- Touch up any necessary exterior caulking required. Examples of important areas to be aware of are windows and chimney collars.
- Check door sweeps and weatherstripping (replace if necessary).
- Check basement or crawlspace for leaks or cracks.
Fall Maintenance Checklist
- Check the drainage of your lot; proper drainage is away from the foundation. To ensure this, all downspouts should be in a lowered position. Where there is settling around your home, it is your responsibility to add soil as required to ensure proper drainage.
- Remove ice damming from roof.
- Check door sweeps and weatherstripping (replace if necessary).
- Turn off sprinkler system and drain exterior taps (if not frost free).
- Re-paint any deteriorating wood finishes. Areas to note are windowsills and decks where water, ice and snow can remain for long periods of time and eventually cause deterioration.
- Ensure all hoses are removed from frost-free taps.
Summer Maintenance Checklist
- Check the drainage of your lot; proper drainage is away from the foundation. To ensure this, all down spouts should be in lowered position. Where there is settling around your home, it is your responsibility to add soil as required to ensure proper drainage.
- Check eavestroughs for any leaks or repair as necessary.
- Check roof for damaged or missing shingles.
- Touch up any necessary exterior caulking required. Examples pf important areas to be aware of are windows and chimney collars.

- Ensure your driveway and sidewalks are kept clean and that there is no ice build up on them. Ensure if using a de-icer that it is not abrasive to concrete surfaces.
- Ensure you maintain your humidity levels inside the home and that proper ventilation is going through the home.
